Tara Winters, P.T., DPT

Physical Therapist

Tara received her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from San Diego State University before going on to pursue her doctorate in physical therapy from the University of St. Augustine in San Marcos, California. She values the impact that movement has on the human body both physiologically and mentally. Throughout school, she also deepened her passion for wellness, nutrition, and health.

She has experience working with a variety of patient populations. In addition to orthopedic conditions, she also has extensive experience treating patients with vestibular dysfunction including benign paroxysmal positional vertigo, vestibular hypofunction, and balance disorders. Regardless of diagnosis, she emphasizes a holistic treatment approach with integration of mind-body balance with all patients. With her strong background in manual therapy, she utilizes movement science with hands-on techniques to improve patient movement patterns and retain functional mobility.

Tara values lifelong learning and professional development. She is currently in the process of completing her Manual Therapy Certification as well as her teaching certification from the esteemed BASI Pilates program. Her Manual Therapy Certification encompasses advanced spinal, extremity, and myofascial evaluation and manipulation. Her BASI Pilates teaching certification will allow her to integrate core strength and whole-body alignment into her physical therapy treatments. She also plans to pursue Fellowship with the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists to continue to advance her skills and promote excellence as both a clinician and researcher through evidence-based practice.

Tara currently lives in Brentwood. Like a true California native, she enjoys spending time in the sun, practicing yoga, getting together with her family, and cooking.
